Clerk's Office

The Borough Clerk is appointed by and serves the Borough Mayor and Assembly. The Clerk administers democratic processes such as elections, access to Borough records and all legislative actions to ensure transparency to the public. The Clerk serves as parliamentarian and takes minutes at Borough Assembly meetings, processes  meeting meeting packets, resolutions and ordinances, and is responsible for codification of ordinances into the Borough Code.
Services and Resources
  • Assembly Meeting Packets - The Clerk prepares Assembly meeting packets, which are released to the public.
  • Board of Ethics - The Clerk provides administrative support to, takes and preserves the minutes of, and produces the reports and opinions of, the Board of Ethics. 
  • Borough Code of Ordinances - The Clerk is responsible for the codification of all Borough ordinances. This online version of the Borough code contains the ordinances of the Ketchikan Gateway Borough, which have the force and effect of law.
  • Election Information - The Clerk conducts all Borough elections and provides election information for voters, candidates, and elected officials.
  • Mayor and Assembly - The Clerk's Office provides administrative support for the elected Borough Mayor and Assembly Members.
  • Public Records Request Form - The Clerk processes requests for public records and information, and oversees the Borough records management program.
  • Resolutions, Ordinances, Minutes, and Records - The Clerk is the custodian of all Borough vital documents including the resolutions, ordinances, and minutes of the Assembly, and makes these records available to the public.
  • Service Areas - The Borough has 12 service areas; seven of which are administered by boards of directors. The Clerk's Office is responsible for keeping the record for membership and the minutes of the boards.
